I sometimes have a "oh crap, the sky is falling!" view of life, particularly in the morning. Getting out of bed can only lead to bad things. So after giving her my morning summery of my project status, my boss gave me this advice, "Chris, in the the morning when someone asks you how things are going, never start with 'we have a big problem!' Throw in a little good morning first or something".
